On the nights of December 10th and 11th, 2016, the diverse talents of music and theatre students of the School District of South Milwaukee will host the 39th Annual Ye Olde Christmas Feaste.
A 15th Century banquet hall draped with banners and evergreen accents. A page beckons thee to journey back some 550 years to join the festivities and partake the enchantment and magic of the Renaissance.
The Feaste -- as it is fondly called -- recreates the regal elegance of an old English castle during the Renaissance period with pageantry, costumes, music of the madrigal singers, renaissance string ensemble, woodwind and brass ensembles, herald trumpeters, and, of course, feasting.
Between 1350 and 1600 the western world was experiencing a Renaissance, or rebirth. During this time an extraordinary transformation happened in both culture and artistry. This rebirth affected and transformed intellectual life of the time.
Join musical directors Peter Thompson, Lee Stovall, and David Miles and the South Milwaukee Music Parents Association as we lift all cares and woes with joyous music and frivolity!
